Battlefield 3 Easter Eggs

There are numerous easter eggs to be found throughout all the multiplayer online maps in Battlefield 3.

Here are some of the fun little things:

Map: Operation Metro - Mode: Rush

A newspaper called DiceTime with headline "Battlefield 3 Rocks!" can be found in the park. Next to it, is an advertising board displaying Battlefield 3 image.

At the third objectives, near the M-COM stations, there is a photo booth that allows you to take photos.

The scrolling text on the M-COM stations' screen is the lyrics to an old Swedish song called Värmlandsvisan.

At the first objectives, at the playground, there is a little sand castle with Norway and Sweden flags on top of it. For those of you that don't know, this is the same sand castle that had previously been appeared in other Battlefield series.

At the third objectives, near the M-COM stations, you can find a yellow "Runner Bag" resembling the messenger bags used in the Mirror's Edge game which is also developed by DICE.

So there you have it! Now pick up your controller and find the easter eggs yourself.

First Glimpse of The Hulk in The Avengers Movie

Finally we get to see The Hulk in the latest The Avengers movie trailer that can be seen at iTunes Movie Trailers. Even though it was just 2 seconds, The Hulk looks awesome, extremely photo realistic and closely resembling actor Mark Ruffalo.

The trailer gives us no hint on what role The Hulk would play in the film. I guess we will have to wait to find out. He could be a hero - as a member of the team, or a villain - most likely being controlled by Loki.

Error Loading Newly Imported People in Google+

OK, so now you already have a Google+ account and you know the trick to import your Facebook friends into the Google+ circles via Yahoo contacts. But for some reason, they do not appear in the "Find and Invite" section of your Google+ suggested friends list and it keep giving the "Error loading newly imported people - Retry" message. Well, that is strange because the API worked perfectly when I first connect my Yahoo account with Google+.

But no worries, there is a workaround for this. All you need to do is to export those Yahoo contacts into a CSV or vCard file and then import the file to your Gmail contacts.

Below are the steps:
  1. Open your Yahoo mail and navigate to the Contacts tab.
  2. Click Tools->Export.
  3. Choose the type of file that you want to export. In this case, I chose Yahoo!CSV.
  4. Answer the captcha and then click the Export Now button.
  5. Once you have that file downloaded, open your Gmail and click Contacts.
  6. Upload that file to Gmail by clicking More action dropdown menu -> Import.
  7. Finally, select the file you want to upload and click the Import button.
Now all your newly imported Yahoo contacts are on your Google+ “Find and Invite" page. You can easily add them into your circles without having to go through the hassle of manually adding a long list of your friends.

How to Fake Check In on Facebook Places

Faking your location on Facebook Places is as easy as A-B-C. All you need is a Mozilla Firefox web browser and Geolocater - a Firefox add-on that allows user to edit the default geolocation. Yes, you don't even need a mobile device to check-in to a place.

How does it work?

When you visit a location-aware website, Firefox will ask you if you want to share your location.

If you consent, Firefox gathers information about nearby wireless access points and your computer’s IP address. Then Firefox sends this information to the default geolocation service provider, Google Location Services, to get an estimate of your location. That location estimate is then shared with the requesting website.

With Geolocater, you can fake your current geolocation and make yourself appear from anywhere on the globe.

Here is the trick:
  1. Download and install Geolocater add-on for Firefox at https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/geolocater.
  2. After you restart Firefox, select Tools -> Geolocater -> Manage to open Geolocater window.
  3. Select Geolocations -> New to create a geolocation.
  4. Type the place where you want to be geolocated and then click the Search icon. You can also click on the pointer and drag it to the new place on the map.
  5. Next, select Geolocations -> Switch to switch from current geolocation to the new one.
  6. Select Geolocations -> Save to save the new geolocation.

  7. Finally, log into Facebook mobile website at http://touch.facebook.com in Firefox and click on the Check In icon to open a list of nearby locations in Places. Amaze your friends by 'checking in' to those locations and have them think you are somewhere where you are not.

*Tested on Firefox 4.0.1 and Geolocater 1.1.3

Sid In Toy Story 3

Sid in Toy Story 1

I just realized that Sid Phillips - the evil kid from Toy Story 1 - makes a brief appearance in Toy Story 3. He is now grown up and working as a garbage man. Sid appears twice in the movie. First, when he comes to pick up the trash from Andy's house and second, right after Woody and the gang escaped from the incinerator near the end of the movie.

Although I can't get a clear good look from his face cause he was wearing goggles and a big set of headphones, Sid is identifiable by the same black T-shirt bearing a white Skull that he wore during the first movie.

Yup, that's him!
